Arctic Sea Tours is located in Dalvik, a seaside town in the North of Iceland. Our ticket office is located conveniently on Hafnarbraut 22 just above the harbour, next to the N1 gas station.

Why Dalvík is one of the Best Whale Watching Locations in the World

Whales tend to love the North-Icelandic waters. There is a volcanic fissure in the ocean ground that allows some heat to filter up from the deep. Zooplankton and the krill flourish in this mixing of warm and cold currents in the sheltered Eyjafjörður bay. This creates especially rich feeding grounds that attract all kinds of the whales.

Thanks to these favorable conditions, Dalvík is an extremely popular area for whale watching. The chance of seeing whales exceeds an incredible 98 percent, with over 99 percent sighting rates in summer! This makes the Dalvík whale watching area one of the best in the world.

Once in a lifetime experience

Bought tickets online, received the confirmation very soon. Organisation was exceptional. We booked an 1.5 tour on a speedboat. It was great, we saw whales from a 10-15 m distance. This experience is indescribable! The staff is very polite and friendly, explains everything. The boat was comfortable, the overalls were provided.
I would recommend everyone to include whale watching in their program while traveling through Iceland!

Very efficient and on time tour. They gave great explanations, but not too talkative. We saw at least four whales multiple times. The hot chocolate at the end was a nice treat.

Fantastic tour! Seen both whales and dolphins. Highly reccomend to take the express tour as you can cover more space in the same time.

My friends and I did the express whale watching on their rib boat and all of us had a great time. It was fast and thrilling, but also very smooth. I’ve done many whale watching tours on larger vessels, and the speed boat is definitely the BEST (and faster!) option to see and get a bit closer to whales/wildlife. You can comfortably enjoy the tour without anyone getting in your line of sight as well. Thank you Arctic Sea Tours for a wonderful tour!
